Volunteer Spotlight: Sean Cannon

After almost 5 years, we are sad to say goodbye to Sean Cannon, one of our longest standing volunteers, as he embarks on a new journey in life to move out-of-state. Sean has been a shining example of what it means to advocate for RMHC Richmond.

Since the Fall of 2015 Sean has shared his Wednesday nights with us at Ronald McDonald House where he served as a House volunteer, ensuring that everything ran smoothly for families. Sean has always jumped in when asked to make a meal in the kitchen as well, providing delicious meals for families at the House.

Sean’s commitment grew as he joined the Red Shoe Crew advocating for RMHC Richmond within the RVA community. Sean worked behind the scenes with the Red Shoe Crew to plan and execute events that raised awareness for RMHC Richmond. Sean also gravitated towards helping out at our signature events, so you may recall seeing him working at the Red Shoe Rendezvous gala or at The Big Pig Project bidding on his favorite decorated pig.

While it is hard to say goodbye, we are so grateful for the many ways he has touched the lives of RMHC Richmond families, staff and fellow volunteers at this organization.  We will miss you Sean! Thank you for your many years of dedicated service to our mission here at RMHC Richmond and all the families and children you have helped along the way!
