If you have been a walk recently at a park in the Richmond and surrounding areas, odds are you’ve seen painted rocks tucked away near the tree trunks and bench legs. The newest fun Richmond activity is as simple as painting rocks, “hiding” them and going on walks looking for rocks that others have hidden.
It all started with a rock a member of our staff “rehid” from the park on the front steps of the house for the kids to enjoy.
We absolutely love this movement, so we painted some rocks to hide at some parks nearby!
At the same time, someone was making a few rocks to hide with our logo as well. She very generously donated $5 per rock when someone found them and posted them in the Facebook Group- rva rocks! – va official page
Then, a sweet family came and “hid” some rocks in our backyard for the kids at the house to find!
The kids at the house were excited to find them and do some “rehiding” of their own!
We have had a blast with this and are hoping to have the kids at the house paint some rocks over the summer. Did you find one of our logo rocks? We’d love to see where they’ve gone and been! Post it to our Facebook page!
