Mission Accomplished for January!
Breanna is just your everyday 10 year old except she has AFRID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)- essentially a fear of trying new foods. Her doctors and family worried that her nutrition may have been suffering so they sought out the feeding program at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The program was 7 weeks long and residing 2 hours away in South Boston, VA, commuting was not an option. That’s when they found Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond.
Breanna’s mom, Brandy, describes their experience:
At RMHC of Richmond, Bre and her family were able to stay close to Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU through the whole 7 weeks of her program and enjoy time as a family just as they would in their own home. They ate home-cooked meals and were able to be hang out with other families going through similar experiences.
