Courage for Katie Necklace

You may remember one of our recent family stories about Katie Whatley, her mom Amanda, and her grandmother Kathryn Novak. Their family stayed at Richmond’s Ronald McDonald House when Katie was diagnosed with leukemia.

Kendra Scott, a new jewelry store at Short Pump Mall, invited Katie to come to the store to design her own necklace. The necklace, now called the Courage for Katie Necklace, is for sale to the public for $50 and 20% of every purchase will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond.

The store is hosting a grand opening night where 20% of all purchases (in addition to the Courage for Katie necklace) will benefit RMHC Richmond. The event will be on September 15th from 5 – 8 pm at their location at Short Pump Mall. Katie, her family, and many RMHC staff and board members will be attending and we would love to see you there!

To prepare, the store has a pre-order form for the Courage for Katie necklace, if you are interested in purchasing one of these necklaces for yourself, a friend or family member, please complete the form here: Courage for Katie Necklace Pre-Order Form

The necklaces will be available for pick up on the night of the 15th or there is an option to purchase and have it shipped to you on the day after the event. If you choose to pay by phone, payment will be collected by phone the day prior to the event.

Below are a few photos of Katie designing her necklace!
